Patna: Bihar Human Rights Commission (BHRC) while closing a case of acid attack on three persons at village Benwalia under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on Wednesday directed the DM and SP of the district to request the court for speedy trial of the case. Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bhojpur, has informed the commission that all the three victims had been provided Rs three lakh each on February 4, 2016 while SP, Bhojpur, informed that police filed charge-sheet in the case on May 31, 2016.
Satish Kumar, son of Rameshwar Prasad, of village Benwalia, had complained to the Commission in Februay ,2016 about police inaction in an acid attack case that happened on September 8, 2015, night in which his father, mother and sister were badly injured. Accused Sujeet Kumar was arrested on April 14,2016, his brother Abhay Kumar surrendered before the court on March 8,2016 and accused Jai Kishore Yadav, a non-FIR accused, was granted bail by Patna High Court, Patna on May 3, 2016, said BHRC member Neelmani. Acid was thrown on the three aforesaid persons to avenge for refusal of the victim girl to the one sided love advances of Jaikishore Yadav, police informed the commission.
The commission had directed SP, Bhojpur, to submit Final Form in the case quickly and wanted to know the status of payment of compensation to the victims under Bihar goverment’s Victim Compensation Scheme, 2014, Neelmani said.
