Patna: All the university and college teachers will have to remain present at their respective college/ university department for at least five hours on every teaching day. The Governor Secretariat, on the directive of the governor-cum-chancellor Ram Nath Kovind, on Friday sent a circular to the vice-chancellors of all the universities asking them to ensure all the teachers remain present at their respective college/ university department for at least five hours on every teaching day.
The Registrars of all the universities have been directed to send the list of teachers on unauthorised leave daily by 3 pm to the governor secretariat/ state education department. The circular said the Statutes issued in 2005 had also given similar directive regarding presence of teachers. It also said that at both the meetings of the vice-chancellors held at Raj Bhavan on January 18 and May 14, 2016, the chancellor had asked them to ensure that the teachers remain present at their respective institution for at least five hours on all the 180 teaching day.
