Dhanbad (Jharkhand) : The CBI on November 24, 2017, evening, registered FIR against 14 persons including former Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), T K Lahiri, CMD, Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL), D K Sinha, Director ( Technical), BCCL, D C Jha and a Chinese firm for buying road header machines worth Rs 11.6 crore purchased between 2009—2016.
The CBI had started investigation into the purchase on the recommendation of Central Vigilance Commission on February 17, 2017, and after nine months of preliminary investigation found charges true after which the FIR was filed.
“The FIR has even been filed against the Chinese company and the Indian agent through whom the purchase was made floting the framed rules for purchase,” stated a CBI DSP.
