Ara : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 19, 2020, pasted posters on the walls of different government and court buildings announcing a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone/persons providing information regarding murder of Brahmeshwar Mukhia alias Brameshwar Nath Singh, Ranveer Sena Supremo. The CBI has also given its phone numbers to facilitate the informers saying that their identity would be kept secret.
It may be mentioned here that Brameshwar Mukhia alias Brameshwar Nath Singh of village Khopira under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district was chief of a private army of landlord, Ranveer Sena, and was in jail for several years in connection with his alleged involvement in war of attrition between the Ranveer Sena and the CPI(ML) in the area that claimed several lives from both the sides.
After his release from the Jail, he was taking keen interest in politics that cost his life. Some unidentified armed persons shot him dead on June 1, 2012, around 4.30 am near his residence in Katira locality under Nawada police station, Ara, when he was on morning walk.
In the poster, the CBI has said that chargesheet against 8 persons has so far been filed in Brahmeshwar Mukhia murder case but the investigating agency is still far away from the main culprit.
