Tai Tzu though still leads Carolina 9-7 Head to Head.
Fifth seed Carolina Marin crushed reigning Asian Games champion Tai Tzu Ying 21-9, 21-16 in 42 minutes in the final on January 17, 2021. Marin won 42 rallies in the match to 25 by Tai Tzu. The Spainiard won 8 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Tai Tzu.
