Patna : Viktor Axelsen, 27, Demark, beat 7th seed N G Ka Long Angus, 26, Hong Kong, in straight games in the final to lift the men’s singles title at Yonex Thailand Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 badminton tournament, at Bangkok, Thailand, on January 17, 2021. Axelsen won 12,000 points for winning the title while runner-up Angus secured 10,200 points.

Axelsen, the 2017 World Champion & World No 4, beat N G Ka Long Angus, the World No 8, 21-14, 21-14 in 44 minutes to win the men’s singles title. Axelsen won 42 rallies in the match to 28 by Angus. The Dane 6 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Angus. Axelsen now leads Angus 10-0 Head to Head.
