Buxar: -The swirling Ganga has started posing threat to the people living in areas near the river. The ewatr  level of the Ganga rsing river water is increasing at a great pace and if the trend continues, it may inundate several areas in a day or two. With the water level og Ganga rising, erosion has started in  Buxar-Koelwar dam at several points. The intermittent rain have also added to the fear of the people.

Buxar BJP MP Ashwini Choubey complained about it to the Executive Engineer, Flood Control Department, Siddheshwar Sah and he along with the Executive Engineer visited Majharia, Arjunpur, Keshopur, Manikpur, Amarpur and Sonbarsha villages and directed the engineers to take immediate steps to check erosion. Buxar DM Raman Kumar has asked all the officials to remain alert round the clock and keep strict vigil on the rising trend of the river. He also directed the officials to be ready to tackle the flood fury.

Junior Engineer, Central Water Commission, Buxar, Kanhaiya Kumar said that the river is rising at a speed of 2cm per hour and in the evening on Saturday it was flowing at 58.27 metre, about a meter below the danger mark. Meanwhile, the Red Cross Society of India, Brahmpur unit, led by Shrawan Kumar, secretary of the society, held an awareness programme in all the flood prone areas
