Buxar : The Buxar district continues to be in the grip of icy cold wind and the people particularly the slum dwellers are the worst 0hit. The district administration has decided to arrange for bonfire for the poor besides distributing blankets among them. Buxar DM Raman Kumar said that temperature below 7 degree Celsius is considered to be the cold wave but at present it is around 10 degree Celsius so it can’t be said that cold wave has hit the district.
But, the fact remains that icy cold has made lives of people miserable and they prefer to remain indoors. The DM directed the officials to arrange bonfire at all the important places and roundabouts and Rs 50,000 each has been allotted to all the Circle officers for the purpose. He said that the district administration will purchase blankets worth about Rs 1.48 lakh and distribute them among the poor. He also directed the officials to provide rainbasera like facilities to the poor so that they can spend night with ease.
