Buxar Consumer Protection Forum issues arrest warrant against Bira Sun Life official

Buxar: Buxar district Consumer Protection Forum issued warrant of arrest against the Branch Manager, Birala Sun Life, Buxar branch, on Monday for not complying with its order.

One Lalita Devi had filed a case with Buxar District Consumer Protection Forum against an insurance company ‘Birla Sun Life’ alleging that she had taken  a medicare policy and deposited its premium regularly on time. In the meantime, she fell ill and the doctor diagnosed some problem in her valve . She had to undergo an operation to rectify it that cost over Rs 8 lakh. As per provision and promise, the insurance company had to meet the cost of operation and the Birala Sun Life had to give Rs 8 lakh to her but it did not do so.

After hearing both the parties, the Forum had ordered the Birla Sun Life on September 4, 2015, to give the complainant all the cost of the operation and other treatment within 45 days of the order but the insurance company failed to abide by the order. The Forum took it serious note of it and issued warrant of arrest against the Branch Manager ofBirla Sun Life on Monday.
