Ara: Motorcycle borne armed criminals numbering six shot dead the owner of Damodarpur Bazaar, Shahpur, under Shahpur Police Station in Bhojpur district, Dhirendra Rai on October 28 evening when he was chatting with a businessman. The villagers chased the criminals and nabbed of them and thrashed them. The deceased is said to be a close associate of the Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari alias Mantu Tiwari. Later, the police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post- mortem.
Criminals riding three motorcycle arrived at Damomarpur Bazaar, Shahpur, and started firing indiscriminately and shot dead Dhirendra Rai, son of Rajendra Rai, who owned the Damodarpur Bazaar. An FIR has been lodged with Shahpur police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. Tension prevails in the area following the incident. Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that investigation was on and the accused will be arrested very soon.
