Madhubani : Two bike criminals shot dead a middleage trader Babban Mahto at Betaunha under Jainagar police station in Madhubani district in North Bihar on May 30, 2017, noon, when he was returning home on his bike, and escaped towards Nepal. The place of occurrence is just 200 metres away from Nepal border. Jainagar is 31.4 km away from Madhubani.
SDPO, Jainagar, Sumit Kumar, said that circumstantial evidence suggest that some acquaintance from Nepal had killed Babban Mahto as he had taken out his helmet after stopping his bike perhaps to speak to the assailants before he was shot dead. The SDPO said that Nepal police too had been alerted and they had sealed the border points. Babban also did business in bordering Nepal area.
