Patna: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on November 22 cancelled the affiliation granted to 56  plus two  schools and Intermediate colleges across the state. This was announced here by Commissioner, Patna division, and Chairman, BSEB, Anand Kishore. Affiliation granted to 26 Plus Two schools has been suspended.

Kishore had ordered an inquiry into the irregularities in grant of affiliation  to 213 plus two teaching institutions in the state after the BSEB Inter Exam results scam rocked the state this year. The BSEB chairman announced that action would be taken against District Education Officers (DEOs) giving favourable reports about these schools. Former BSEB Chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad and his team had granted affiliation to 213 schools during past  two years. Lalkeshwar and several BSEB officials were arrested after the result scam broke out. In the first phase, affiliation to 68 plus two schools and Inter colleges was cancelled.  So far affiliation granted to 124 plus two institution has been cancelled.
