Brother of Basauri PACS president shot dead in Bhojpur

Ara : About half a dozen armed persons ants shot dead Rajesh Pandey alias Chhotkun Pandey at Fatehpur Bazaar under Sikarhatta police station of Tarari block on December 24  evening. The deceased was the brother of Basauri panchayat primary agriculture credit Society (PACS) Presidsent,  Nagesh Pandey alias Badkun Pandey. He was also a  named accused in the murder of former PACS president Muna Singh and was released from jail on bail  recently. Rajesh was a resident of Sukraul  village under  Sikarhatta police staion.

Rajesh Pandey along with his cousin brother Deepak Pandey had gone to a barber’s shop for shaving. Meanwhile, at least five armed miscreants on three motorcycles reached there and started firing indiscriminately. Rajesh Pandey and Deepak Pandey tried to escape but the miscreants surrounded them and pumped at least half a dozen bullets into his Rajesh’s body and head. He immediately fell on the ground but Deepak Pandey managed to escape  and informed the family members. Later, the family members brought Rajesh to Ara Sadar Hospital where the  doctor declared him  brought dead.

SHO, Sikarhatta police station, Kundan Kumar said that former PACS president Munna Singh of Sikraul village under Sikarhatta police station was shot dead in Jagdeonagar locality under Nawada police station, Ara,  in January 2012.  PACS president Nagesh Pandey said that at least five miscreants had attacked Rajesh of which he knew three and told the police their names. The police assured to arrest them within 72 hours and if the police fail, he will decide further course of action, Nagesh said.
