Bridegroom held captive at Bhojpur village for refusing to marry, released

Ara : Family members of bride made captive the bridegroom on May 11, 2018, night, at Masadh Tola village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district after he refused to marry the girl on the excuse that he was in love with a girl of his village. The bridegroom  was released on May 12 morning after much persuasion and assurance of his father to return all the amount and articles taken before the marriage.

Marriage of Ajay Kumar, son of Ram Surat Ram of village Ratnadh under Garhani police station, was to be solemnized with Soni Kumari, daughter of Doman Ram at Masadh Tola village under Udwantnagar police station on May, 11, 2018. The barat came around  midnight but Ajay Kumar at time of  ‘sindurdan’ refused to marry saying he was in love with a girl of his village.
