Muzaffarpur: B R Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, in a major development on October 4, 2016, stopped the research works of 350 PhD students and teachers from Nepal and Assam with immediate effect. BRABU VC Pandit Pallande approved a proposal to this effect at the meeting of Examination Board on October 4.

Proctor, BRABU,  Satish Rai said that the Examination Board took the decision to stop the research work of these students after several heads of departments of the university objected to permission granted to them to pursue research works. They claimed that several students from Nepal and Assam were doing research work on the basis of forged documents and certificates. Rai said that the university would now scrutinise the applications and certificates of 350 students from Assam and Nepal before allowing them to carry on their research work.
