Muzaffarpur : Directorate of Distance Education, B R Ambedkar Bihar University ( BRABU)), Muzaffarpur, lodged an FIR with University Police Station on December 12, 2017, night, in connection with a devastating fire which broke out in a room of  L S College, Muzaffarpur, early in the day.

Books worth about Rs 70 lakh and several important files were destroyed  in the fire, according to the FIR. All the books belonged to Directorate of Distance Eduation, BRABU. Director, Directorate of Distance Education, BRABU, A K Srivastava on December 13 said that the incident would be inquired into from different angles. BRABU VC Amrendra Yadav too had on December 12 said that an inquiry would be carried out into the incident of fire.

It may be mentioned here here that the State Vigilance Investigation Bureau is inquiring into irregularities in BRABU following directive from Governor cum Chancellor of state varsities.
