Bokaro ( Jharkhand): A central government survey team will visit Chas municipal corporation (CMC) area on February 6, 2017, to submit its report as to how clean is Chas township. Bokaro deputy commissioner (DC) R M Ray on February 2 held a high level meeting with officials including Chas Mayor Bholu Paswan, SP Y S Ramesh besides other officers and ward councillors on how to make Chas look more spic and span in all respects to gain maximum points.
DC Ray, at the meeting, advised the officials to see to it that all the spots the central team visits for verification of cleanliness drive including schools, health centres, power houses , market places and garbage collection centre and duping ground must give a tidy look. The cleanliness drive, which is regularly being undertaken, should not ignore even small matters including drain cleaning in densely populated area. At the meeting held at Bokaro DC chamber, Bokaro district education officer Mahip Singh, DSP Ajay Kumar, Chas circle officer Vanadana Shejwalkar besides electricity department officers and Chas municipal corporation engineers were also present.
After the meeting, Chas mayor stated that though cleanliness drive in all 35 wards of CMC was going on with more than 200 persons including sanitary inspectors at work. All 35 ward councillors are keeping close watch on the works being carried in their areas but as only four days are left before the central team’s arrival, the government officials of the departtments coedncerned have been asked to remain alert in keeping the city clean.
“We are leaving no stone unturned to make Chas clean and have almost succeeded in making Chas ODF zone while going all out for construction of community toilets and lavatories in most populated spots of city but still last minute discussion took place on how to make Chas look even better and clean,” the Mayor said. “We are sure to get very good ranking in country but let us see and wait for results. Everyone is working very hard,” stated the Mayor.
DC Ray stated that necessary directions had been issued to the officials for making Chas township clean and almost all the encroachments from major roads have been removed.
