Ara : Two unidentified bike borne miscreants shot at and injured a Block Committee Member Birendra Prasad, 55, on Ara Block Office campus under Nawada police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on March 4, 2022, afternoon.
The injured was admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) where the doctor referred him to Sadar Hospital, Ara. The doctorat Sadar Hospital referred the injured to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his precarious condition. Birendra Prasad is a resident of Shuklapura under Ara Muffasil PS. He is Block Committee Member of Baghipakad panchayat. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada PS, Ara, station in connection with the incident. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
Jag Narayan Ram, a co-villager of Birendra Prasad who accompanied him to Ara Block office, said that as soon as they entered the campus of block office, two motorcycle borne miscreants came from behind and pumped three bullets into the body of Birendra Prasad and escaped. Bhojpur ASP cum Ara Sadar SDPO Himanshu reached Sadar Hospital and collected information from Jag Narayan Ram. He said that two armed miscreants shot at and injured Birendra Prasad. He said that the police are investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, leaders of different parties rushed to the spot and raised finger on the efficacy of the Nitish Government and added that law and order had collpased in Bihar and criminals are ruling the roost. Qyamuddin Ansari of the CPI (ML) demanded arrest of the miscreants within 24 hours failing which an aggressive agitation would be launched.
