Patna : A four-member BJP delegation on April 6, 2018, submitted a memorandum to Bihar DGP K S Dwivedi charging the police with having acted in a partisan manner against members of the majority community in the aftermath of the recent tension in some districts of the state including Aurangabad, Nalanda, Bhagalpur and Samastipur. The BJP is a partner in Nitish Kumar government and its leader Sushil Kumar Modi is the Deputy Chief Minister.

The BJP delegation comprised state vice-president Devesh Kumar, Chief Whip of the party in Bihar  Assembly Arun Kumar Sinha, Digha MLA Sanjiv Chaurasia and media incharge Pankaj Singh.

The memorandum claimed that in districts like Aurangabad, Nalanda and Samastipur, the majority community resorted to aggression only upon provocative acts by anti-social elements from the rival group. It demanded among others release of all innocent people and a high-level inquiry into the alleged partisan approach of police in the wake of tension in these district.
