Patna : The BJP-Shiv Sena (SS) alliance on October 24, 2019, retained power securing majority in the 288-Member Maharashtra Assembly the elections to which were held on October 21, 2019. The poll results were announced on October 24. The BJP has won 103 seats and was leading on two seats while SS has won 56 seats. The NDA’s performance has been far below the expectations as almost all the Exit Polls had predicted huge majority for the alliance.
The Congress has won 43 seats and was leading on one seat while NCP has 53 seats and was leading on one seat. The Congress-NCP alliance has performed well at the polls. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Musalimeed and Samajwadi Party have won two seats each while the CPI (Marxist) has won one seat. Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi win 3 seats while the Independents won 13 seats.
