Patna:Former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday claimed a cold war was on between RJD president Lalu Prasad and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
Sushil Modi, in a statement, said Lalu has no time to meet the common RJD workers, but he spent two hours with party MLA from Nawada Raj Ballabh Prasad Yadav, an accused in rape case filed by a minor girl. Raj Ballabh met Lalu on Thursday morning at his residence. Sushil said Nitish was in dilemma over ties with the RJD. He should come out of the alliance with the RJD which was still patronising criminals, the BJP leader said.
Prem Kumar, Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, said Lalu has allowed an accused of rape case to meet even the deputy chief minister of the state at his bungalow sending a message to the investigating and prosecution officers.
Vinod Narain Jha, principal spokesman of BJP, said morality was now lost in politics and Lalu Prasad preferred to meet accused of a heinous crime than engage himself in Puja activities.
Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, senior BJP leader and MP from Buxar, also criticised Lalu for meeting Raj Ballabh who was granted bail by Patna High Court last week.  He said RJD’s nexus with criminals has been proved.
Neeraj Kumar, MLC and spokesman of JD(U), took strong exception of Raj Ballabh-Lalu meeting and said political alliance  was not more important than morality in politics. Shakti Yadav, MLA and RJD spokesman, reacted strongly to Neeraj’s charge and said JD(U) spokesman should not spit venom.
