Patna : The BJP and JD(U) will contest 17 seats each in 2019 Lok Sabha elections leaving 6 seats for another NDA constituent, the Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP), ending speculations over the seat sharing issue in Bihar on December 23, 2018. Bihar sends 40 MPs to Lok Sabha. Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), which had won three seats in 2014 LS polls, quit NDA recently.
Leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, however, took a swipe at the BJP for agreeing to contest only 17 seats in Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls even as it had won 22 in the 2014 general elections.
The JD(U) headed by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had won only two seats in the 2014 general elections while the LJP had won 6. LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan on December 23 said that there was absolutely no problem in the NDA.
