Bike borne criminals shot at and injured brick kiln staff in Bhojpur

Ara : Three bike borne criminals fired indiscriminately on an employee of JPS Brick Kiln Mantosh Kumar, 36, and injured him at village Ibrahimpur under Ara Town police station on Dharahara-Zamira main road on October 21, 2018, Sunday and escaped. They threw a visiting card at the site.

Police recovered eight blank cartridges and a live cartridge from the spot. The injured was later admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara. Non-payment of extortion is said to be the cause behind the incident. An FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station on the statement of the injured but no arrest has so far been made in this connection. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident. The businessmen of the area put their shutters down after the firing incident.

SP, Bhojpur, Aditya Kumar said that the miscreants had demanded ‘rangdari’ ( extortion amount) from the owner of the JPS Brick Kiln at village Ibrahimpur and when he did not pay heed, three motorcycle borne miscreants including Manish Singh alias Hero, who was recently released on bail from the jail, attacked the brick kiln on October 21 and fired indiscriminately to create terror. The bullets hit the right hand, scrotum and left knee of the employee of the brick kiln Mantosh Kumar, son of Ganga Prasad Yadav of village Piparhiya under Ara Muffassil police station. The miscreants also threw a visiting card there with ‘H’ written over it and a chit demanding ‘rangdari’. The locals rushed Mantosh Kumar to the Sadar Hospital.

The SP said that police are conducting raids at all the possible places to arrest the miscreants.  He said that the miscreants have been identified and name of Manish Singh alias Hero figures in the incident and hoped that he would be arrested very soon.

It may be mentioned here that after his escape from police custody, Manish Singh alias Golu alias Hero, son of Anil Singh of village Bindgawa under Koelwar police station, had allegedly killed an accountant Bipul Mishra and injured an employee Saroj Yadav of Raj Automobiles Tractor Agency, a Mahindra ShowRoom on Zero Mile under Udwantnagar police station and also shot at and injured Ankit Raj alias Aman, son of Dr Jitendra Kumar, on Nala Road under Ara Town police station on September 20, 2018, for his refusal to pay ‘rangdari’ and also establish his supremacy in the area.

The SP said that Hero was arrested in December 2017 along with a notorious criminal Botal Mahto and five others for murdering a Scorpio driver Santosh Kumar and they were sent to Beur jail at that time but Manish Singh was brought over to Ara jail as he was named accused in the firing at village Fuha under Barhara police station but he escaped from police custody from the Ara civil court on August 24, 2018, when he was brought over there for production before the court.

The SP said that Manish Singh worked for Botal Mahto and both have links with the inmates of Ara jail. Manish Singh is in constant touch with Botal Mahato since September 1, 2018, but now Manish Singh is trying to establish his supremacy in the area and so he frequently is demanding rangdari from the businessmen and traders.
