Gopalganj: Bihar Woman football team on Sunday defeated Maharastra by 4-1 goals in the inaugural match of 38th Woman Federation Cup tournament. The match was played at Minz Stadium in the town under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society.
As the 0match started, Bihar team showed its killer instinct and Sandhya Kumari shot first goal in the first five minute of the match. Another Bihari player Antara Kumari fired another goal giving her team a lead by 2 goals in the 25th minute. Though the Maharastrian players tried to equalize the goals, they failed to convert their moves into goals. The match was stopped for few minutes as a Maharastrian player sustained injuries, but it did not deter the Bihari players from creating scoring opportunity and they led 3-0 in the first half. In the second half, Maharastra player Anchala Kumari managed to fire a goal and the score stood at 3-1. Continuing their dominance, Bihari player Antara Kumari scored another goal taking the score to 4-1. A large number of people had assembled to watch the match.
