Patna : COVID-19 cases increased to 1,45,861 in Bihar on September 5, 2020, as 1,727 more persons including 220 from Patna, 126 from Muzaffarpur, 98 from Purnia, 83 from Araria, 73 from East Champaran, 67 from Madhubani, 53 from Begusarai, 64 from Saharsa, 58 from West Champaran, 54 from Saran, 50 from Aurangabad, 47 from Supaul, 40 from Gaya, and 35 from Darbhanga tested positive to it on September 4, 2020.
Of the 1,45,861 cases reported in Bihar till date, a total of 1,28,376 patients have been declared cured/discharged including 1,965 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 88.01 %. The number of active cases in Bihar was 16,734 on September 5, 2020.
Altogether 38,71,733 COVID-19 samples have been tested in Bihar so far including 1,50.483 on September 4, 2020. The state had tested 1,50,195 COVID samples on September 3, 2020, and 1,40,931 samples on September 2, 2020.
COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, has climbed to 750 in Bihar on September 5 with nine new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including two from Patna, two from Munger, two from Bhagalpur, and one each from East Champaran, Lakhisarai, and Saharsa. The toll has jumped to 177 in Patna.
