Patna : The Active cases count dropped to 26,,673 in Bihar on January 20, 2022, down from 30,481 cases a day before, as only 3,475 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 on January 19, 2022. A total of 4,063 persons had tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on January 18, 2022. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on January 20, 2022, announced that the period of Covid-19 restriction has been extended till February 6, 2022.
Altogeter 7,63,90 Covid-19 patients have recovered so far in the state including 7,277 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 95.16% on January 20, 2022, from 94.67% on January 19, 2022. THe state tested 1,51,253 samples on January 19, 2022. The Covid-19 death toll increased to 2,813 in Patna on January 20, 2022.
The 3,475 new Covid-19 cases included 745 in Patna, 287 in Samastipur, 156 in Muzaffarpur, 130 in Gaya, 121 in Saran, 120 in Begusarai, 120 in Munger, 118 in Madhepura, 111 in Bhagalpur, 110 in Purnia, 99 in West Champaran, 97 in Vaishali, 84 in Buxar, 82 in Darbhanga, 80 in Banka, 69 in Rohtas, 64 in Lakhisarai, 55 in East Champaran, 53 in Jamui, 50 in Saharsa, 46 in Bhojpur, 41 in Gopalganj, and 36 in Madhuban.
