New Delhi : With the spike in virus continuing, India reported 3,47,254 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country to 3,85,66,027 including 9,692 Omicron cases  at 8 am on January 21, 2022, up from 3,17,532 cases on January 20, 2022.

On the other hand, a total of 2,51,777 Covid-19 patients recovered in the country in last 24 hours  taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,60,58,806 at 8 am on January 21, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) stands at 93.50%.

India’s Active Caseload was 20,18,825 on January 21, 2022, n increase of 94,774 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 5.23% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day, according Union Health Ministry figure.

India logged 703 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,88,396 at 8 am on January 21, 2022. The case fatality rate was 1.27% on the day.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 19,35,912 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 71.15 Crore (71,15,38,938) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 16.56% on January 21, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 17.94%.

Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 70 lakh (70,49,779) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 160.43 Crore (1,60,43,70,484) as per provisional reports till 7 am on January 21, 2022.
