Patna : The Active cases jumped 11,998 in Bihar including 4,938 cases in Patna on April 10, 2021, as 3,469 more persons including 1,411 in Patna, 310 in Gaya, 153 in Muzaffarpur, 98 in Aurangabad, 97 in Bhagalpur, 87 in Purnia, 80 in Begusarai, 77 in Jehanabad, 74 in Bhojpur, 70 in Lakhisarai, 51 in Arwal, 50 in Darbhanga, and 49 in Katihar, tested positive for Covid-19 on April 9, 2021.

The new 3,469 cases also included 62 in Saran, 57 in Siwan, 51 in Vaishali, 51 in Munger, 50 in Saharsa, 44 in Gopalganj, 43 in West Champaran, 40 in Nawada, 35 in Rohtas, 35 in Sitamarhi, 33 in East Champaran, 32 in Madhepura, 31 in Kaimur, 30 in Buxar,  29 in Kishanganj, 27 in Araria, and 25 in Madhubani.

With it,the Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar rose to 2,79,473 on April 10, 2021, of which 2,65,870 patients have been declared cured including 822 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) further dropping to 95.13 % on April 10 from 96.03% on April 9. 2021. Bihar has tested 2,44,70,942 samples so far including 95,112 samples on April 9, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll surged to 1,604 in Bihar on April 10, 2021, with 6 new deaths being reported in the state in last 24 hours including 3 from Patna, 2 from Gaya, and 1 from Bhojpur. With this, the topp climbed to 472 in Patna, 64 in Gaya, and 49 in Bhojpur on April 10, 2021.

The schools, colleges, and coaching institutes will remain closed till April 18, 2021, in Bihar in the wake of spurt in Covid-19 cases.
