Bihar govt approves Rs 340 cr for providing education to Mahadalit, Dalit and extremely backward children

Patna: Bihar cabinet on Monday approved Rs 340 crore for providing school education to 8 lakh Mahadalit, Dalit and Extremely backward children and  four lakh women from minorities .The money will be used to get children between 6 and 14 year of these classes enrolled in schools. Immediate withdrawal of Rs 100 crore was sanctioned by the cabinet.

The Cabinet approved a proposal of the home department to extend the deputation period of policemen in special task force from 4 year to seven year and for the skilled policemen engaged in inelligence collection and drivers of police vehicles to 10 years. They are engaged in anti-Maoists operations in Bihar.

Farmers whose land was acquired by South Bihar Power distribution company at village Kenar under Sarmera block in  Nalanda district would be given compenesation which would be 25 times more than normal compensation.

The Cabinet also approved proposals to dismiss three government officers from their servicies as the departmental inquiries against them confirmed serious charges of misconduct and corruption. The three officers are: Ms Shakuntla, Programme officer, Siwan, Ananad Swarup of Bihar adminsitrative service posted as BDO at Adapur in East Champaran district, and Kishore Kumar Vimal, DPO, Aurangabad.

CM Nitish Kumar held a meeting with the officials of Water resources and Disaster management department after cabinet meeting and reviewed the latest flood situation in the state. Principal secretaries of the two departments were asked to make an aerial survey of the six affected districts. Water resources minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh claimed all embankments were safe in the state though flood waters were spilling over from Nepal where heavy rains have taken place.
