Patna : Bihar Governor cum Chancellor of State Universities Fagu Chauhan while reviewing the functioning of all the universities on January 9, 2020, stressed on rationalisation in the process of appointments of teachers in different departments at university and college level.

Presiding over a meeting of vice-chancellors (VCs) of all the universities at Raj Bhavan, Governor Fagu Chauhan said that the subjects attracting more students should have adequate number of teachers. Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Brajesh Mehrotra and other senior officials of Raj Bhavan were present on the occasion. The Governor also emphasised on frequent inspection of Constituent, Affiliated and BEd Colleges by senior officials of the respective universities to streamline their functioning. He also directed the universities to accelerate the pace of reforms in higher education this year.

The Governor directed the VCs to ensure that the students clearing the Combined Entrance Test for admission in different BEd Colleges in Bihar do no face any inconvenience in taking admission. The Governor also fixed the date for three-day inter-university sports ‘Eklavya’ at the meeting. The three-day event will be held on February 6, 7 & 8, 2020. The Governor directed  Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Bhagalpur, to hold the event.
