Bianca enters 2nd round of Miami Open 2019

Patna : Bianca Andreescu, 18, Canada, who shot to fame after winning the Indian Wells Masters women’s singles tile at California, USA, on March 18, 2019, as an unseeded player and jumped to World No 24 in WTA rankings, entered the 2nd round of Miami Open at Florida, USA, on March 22, 2019.

Bianca beat World No 70 Irina-Camelia Begu, 28, Romania, in three-sets 4-6, 7-7, 6-2 in the first round of Miami Open. Bianca broke Begu’s service 6 times while the latter broke her service 5 times. Bianca committed 6 double faults to 5 by Begu. Bianca won 5 games in a row in the match to 4 by Begu.

Biana’s winning percentage on both her first and second serve ( 67% & 60 %) was better than that of Begu ( 52% & 59%). Bianca will face World No 34 Sofia Kenin, 20, USA, in the 2nd round.
