Patna: Bihar Human Rights Commission (BHRC) on Friday directed the Nodal Deputy Director, Secondary Education, Bihar and District Education Officer (DEO), Munger, to appear before it on September 1, 2016, along with action taken report in the matter of no-payment of salaries to the teachers of minority schools in Munger district for the last 15 months.
The commission had issued notices on July 11, 2016, to the Director, Secondary Education, Bihar, and the District Education Officer , Munger, to file status report before August 5 was not done.
Jyotirmaye Mukherjee, Incharge Principal, Gorang Pathshala Balak Madhyamik Vidyalaya (Minority) Jamalpur, Munger, had drawn the attention of BHRC towards the pathetic condition of minority schools in Munger district and non-payment of salary to the teachers for the last 15 months, said BHRC member Neelmani. The petitioner had informed that due to financial crisis he was unable to treat his old mother and sustain the educational expenses of his daughter undergoing graduate education in Kolkata. The petitioner is the lone teacher left in his school and can’t run to various offices for getting his salary. The matter has been listed on September 1.
