Bhojpur SIT arrests Sex Racket mastermind, Engineer

Ara : A Bhojpur Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested an Engineer Amresh Singh from Hajipur and the alleged mastermind of sex racket Sanjay Paswan alias Pandit from Bhabhua on July 30, 2019, evening,  after a Bhojpur woman revealed his hideout. Police seized a number of Aadhar Cards and ATMs under different names from Sanjay Paswan’s possession.

Amresh Singh, a MNREGA Engineer, is a resident of Noka in Rohtas district and is posted at Taarari block in Bhojpur district, while Sanjay Paswan is a resident of Patna. Amresh Singh, who had allegedly cheated on his wife, had ironically taken shelter at the residence of his in-laws at Hajipur after his name cropped up in the sex racket. The SIT arrested them after their names figured in the  sex racket case in Patna and Bhojpur. The SIT brought them over to Ara and is interrogating them. Now the SIT is searching for an MLA whose names allegedly also figures  in the racket.

A minor girl of Kabirganj Chhoti Mathia locality under Ara town police station had somehow slipped from the clutch of her tormentors and reached Ara police station on July 18, 2019, night , and revealed that about a month ago a sixteen year old girl of Kabirganj area had introduced her to a woman named Anita Devi who came to her and said that she would bring her up in a much better manner than her brother and also got her admitted to a school. She brought her to Patna where she pushed her into flesh trade. Whenever she protested, Anita Devi and others thrashed her, the girl alleged.

The minor girl also revealed that a sex racket is being run from a rented house near the bus stand on Patna bypass where a number of  teenage girls are forced into the flesh trade. Her brother had lodged a named FIR against Anita Devi and Sanjeet Kuamr alias Sonu alias Chhotu of Patna for pushing minor and teenage girls into flesh trade. On her revelation, police arrested sex centre owner Anita Devi, wife of Sanjay Ram of Maniyaksh under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district, and a broker Sanjeet alias Sonu alias Chhotu, son of Bigtan Mahto of Kadamkuan, Rajendra Nagar, Patna,  on July 19, 2019, and sent them to jail.

The minor girl and even Anita Devi disclosed that former was sent to the residence of an engineer at Madan Ji Ke Hata at Ara, , at the residence of some white collared persons, and also to Hotels at Ara, Patna, and even Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to entertain the customers in lieu of Rs 1,500 to Rs  6,000.

After police took Anita Devi and broker Sanjeet on four-days remand, she confessed during interrogation that she ran a sex racket at Patna with the help of her brother-in-law (Jija) Sanjay Paswan alias Pandit and supplied teenage and minor girls to private residences, government quarters and hotels at Ara, Patna in Bihar, and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Anita was living at MLA quarters since 2013 doing petty works after her husband divorced her  ten years after their marriage. Later, she started running sex centre with the help of her brother-in-law Sanjay Paswan alias Pandit who was already in the trade. They enticed teenage and minor girls with help of a 16 year old Ara girl  and pushed them into flesh trade.  Anita said that she and Sanjay Paswan booked girls, fixed rates on WhatsApp and Sanjeet dropped them to their destinations.

Bhojpur SP had formed an SIT under ASP (Operations) Nitin Kumar and it succeeded in arresting the engineer and the master -mind of the sex racket from Hajipur and Bhabhua respectively following the mobile surveillance and also on the basis of clues disclosed by Anita Devi and the girl who had escaped from their clutch had identified them by their photographs. Meanwhile, State Commission for Women has asked for a report in this connection from Bhojpur SP.
