Sitamarhi : Dr Chirapat Prapand Vidya, a Sanskrit Professor in Bangkok University, and a Buddhist thinker from China Shing Kang were felicitated on July 30, 2019, Sitamarhi under the auspices of Prachya Bharti, a cultural and archeological organisation.
Dr Chirapat threw light on the Buddhist era archaeological sources in establishing the cultural link between India and Southeast Asian countries. Lord Buddha was a great pathfinder and reformer, he said and added that his teachings of Ahimsa will be always relevant.
Shing too threw lights on Sino-India relations during ancient age in the context of Buddhism. He remembered the visit of great Chinese traveller and litterateur Huen Tsang who stayed at several ancient kingdoms.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Arun Kumar Singh, Ram Sharan Agrawal, Dr Bipin Jha, Dr Babulal Mishra, Deepshikha, Nagendra Prasad Singh, Phani Bhushan Viswas, Dr T N Singh, Dr Shankar Prasad Khaitan, Dr Renu Chatterjee, Prof. Umesh Chandra Jha, Dr Pratima Sah, and Abhay Prasad were prominent among those addressing the function..
