Bhojpur police seize 144 bottles of IMFL, Scorpio

Ara  : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, seized 444 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and a Scorpio in the wee hour on March 9, 2017, near Bihia under Bihia police station though the liquor smugglers and the driver escaped from the scene. An FIR has been lodged with Bihia police station in this connection.

ASP Daya Shankar Singh said that he got information that a liquor consignment was being brought from Jharkhand and it was to pass through Bihia-Jagdishpur road. He immediately orderd for  vehicle checking on the route. When  police tried to stop a vehicle, the driver accelerated its speed instead but the police chased and intercepted the vehicle near Kharauni village under Bihia police station. The driver and liquor smugglers escaped leaving the vehicle behind. On search, police seized 444 bottles of IMFL kept in 13 boxes from the vehicle. The ASP said that the consignment was to be sold during Holi festival.
