Bhojpur police seize 1,324 bottles of IMFL, 5 smugglers arrested

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at different places under different police stations in the district on June 17, 2017, evening and seized 1,324 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested five liquor smugglers. Later, the arrested liquor smugglers were to jail.

Police seized 840 bottles of IMFL near village Devaria under Barhara police station on Saraiya-Balua main road and arrested three liquor smugglers identified as Madhusudan Mishra of Gundi village under Krishnagarh police station, Bade Singh of Neknam Tola under Barhara police station and Bheem Singh alias Neeraj Singh of village Tetaria under Ara Muffassil police station.

SHO, Barhara police station, said that the liquor smugglers were bringing the IMFL from Uttar Pradesh in a car and a motorcycle. He said that the police intercepted the vehicles near Devaria village and seized the consignment and seized the car and motorcycle.

Police, in another development, seized 444 bottles of IMFL from a pick-up van near Katira overbridge under Nawada police station, Ara, but the driver escaped from the scene seeing the police leaving the vehicle behind. Police seized the vehicle. SHO, Nawada police station, said that the pick-up van belonged to a resident of Patna. Police have an FIR against the owner of the vehicle and the driver.

Police also seized 32 bottles of IMFL from roadside on the State Highway under Piro police station. The liquor was left there unattended. Police lodged an FIR with Piro police station against unknown persons in this regard.

Police also conducted raids near mental Hospital at Koelwar and Dhandiha village under Koelwar police station, seized 28 bottles of IMFL and arrested two persons Anil Kumar and Lal Babu Sah. They were forwarded to jail.
