Ara : Bhojpur police on June 11, 2019, claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of vehicle lifters after arrest of four members of the gang on June 10. Police also seized six vehicles from their possession. Later, police sent them to jail after interrogating them.

The arrested vehicle lifters were identified as Markandey Mishra, son of Dhananjay Mishra of village Bela  under Dhobaha police outpost, Tribhuan Singh, son of late Shiv Vyas Singh of Bihia under the same police station, Vinay Sah, son of Chhathu Sah of Meerachak under Ara Town police station, and Amarnath Singh alias Daroga Ji, son of late Ramagya Singh of Masadh under Gajrajganj police outpost. Tribhuan Singh is said to be the mastermind of the gang. Seven members of the gang, however, succeeded in escaping from the clutches of police. The arrested miscreants confessed their involvement in the vehicles loot incidents.

Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar on June 11 said that he got information that a stolen Bolero bearing registration No BR-03P/5956 is parked at the house of Markandey Mishra at village Bela under Dhobaha police outpost. Markandey Mishra allegedly deals in stolen vehicles. The SP formed a police team under ASP (Operations) Nitin Kumar on June 10, 2019. The police team conducted raids and seized the Bolero and arrested Mankandey Mishra. On his revelation,  police arrested Tribhuan Singh with two Bolero from Bihia, Vinay Sah with a Pick Up van  from Meerachak, and Amarnath Singh with a Bolero from Masadh. Police also seized a Scorpio from the campus of an absconder Shashi Bhushan Singh at Bandh Majhaua under Koelwar police station.

On the confessional statement of Mankandey Mishra and Tribhuan Singh, police are conducting raids to arrest Dhananjay Pandey of Dalsaga, and Patellwa in Buxar district, Vikas Pandey of Buxar district, Sheru Singh of Gajipur in Uttar Pradesh, Arun Yadav alias Mukhia of Matukpur under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district, Rahul Agrawal of Gajipur in Uttar Pradesh, and Chappu of Dinara in Rohtas district.

The SP said all the members of the gang are involved in stealing and selling the vehicles in Bhojpur and Uttar Pradesh. He said that Markandey Mishra and Tribhuan Singh have criminal background and a number of cases are pending against them with  different police stations in Buxar and Bhojpur district. The SP stated that the miscreants went on changing registration numbers of stolen vehicles to escape police.
