Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, arrested two criminals including the mastermind of an inter-district gang belonging to Katihar district at village Barao under Piro Sub-division in the district on March 19, 2018, and also seized a loaded countrymade pistol, four live cartridges, two cellphones, a motorcycle and Rs 3,000 cash from their possession.

The arrested criminals were identified as Pramod Singh, son of Bhola Singh, and Manish Yadav, son of Mahesh Yadav, of Naya Tola village under Kodha police station in Katihar district. Pramod Singh is said to be mastermind of an inter-district gang. The other members of the gang have been identified as Amit Yadav, Munnu Yadav and Sumit Yadav of Katihar district.

SHO, Piro police station, Janmjey Rai, said that he was tipped off that some criminals were planning to commit crime in the area. He immediate swung into action and located six youth riding three motorcycles coming from Ara. Police chased them but two motorcycle borne criminals managed to escape towards Ara while the criminals riding the third motorcycle  turned to village Barao but fell on the ground and were arrested by the cops.

The SHO said that these criminals live at a rented house near Patna railway station and operated in different parts of Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar and Rohtas districts. The SHO stated that banks and customers of the banks were their soft targets. The gang was involved in a number of incidents of loot and snatching in different parts of Bhojpur district. Police were  were looking for them.
