Bhojpur girl says she tied knot with her lover on her own

Ara : A case of elopement came to light on April 25, 2017, morning after a girl appeared before police and disclosed that she had gone with her lover on her own and also tied knot with him at a temple though her father had lodged a named FIR with Charpokhari police station alleging kidnapping of his daughter.

Poonam Kumari, daughter of Umesh Kumar of village Koyal under Charpokhari police station, fell in love with Sudhir Kumar, son of Raghuvar Paswan of village Zamira under Ara Muffassil Police Station, who frequently visited to his uncle (mausa) at Koyal village. On April 14, 2017, both escaped from the village and tied a nuptial knot at a temple.

After Poonam’s disappearance, her father lodged an FIR alleging her kidnapping with Charpokhari police station. As the girl knew about the FIR, she appeared before police and revealed that she had gone with Sudhir Kumar on her own and he did not kidnap her. Police produced her before a Ara  court on April 25 itself and got her statement recorded under section 164 Cr PC. The court ordered for her medical examination.
