Ara : Doctors in Bhojpur district went on day long token strike and boycotted their duty on March 7, 2020, in protest against murder of a doctor in Nalanda on March 5, 2020, and frequent attack on the doctors across the state. Even private nursing homes remained closed on the day. Some armed miscreants had shot dead Dr  Priya Ranjan Kumar Priyadarshi posted at APHC, Gokulpur Mutt, in Nalanda district on March 5, 2020.

Almost all the doctors, at the call of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Ara Branch, closed the Out Patient Department at Ara Sadar Hospital and boycotted their duty on march 7. Only emergency duty was performed by the doctors at Ara Sadar Hospital in the interest of patients. All the Primary Health Centres, Referral Hospitals, and  private nursing homes wore deserted look. The doctors demanded arrest of criminals within 24 hour, a compensation of Rs 5 crore to the widow of the deceased and a permanent government jot to her, amendment in security law of 2011 and 2014 and fixing penalty of 10 years’ jail  at least, appointment of a security officer at every medical college hospital in Bihar, and arms licenses to doctors for self-defence.
