Bhojpur DM serves show cause notices on 16 Magistrates

Ara : Bhojpur DM Roushan Kushwaha on October 7, 2019, served show cause notices on 16 Magistrates for allegedly being absente from their place of duty during Durga Puja festival. He also warned them if they were found absent again, their salary would be withheld and action would be initiated against them.

The DM had deputed at least 159 Magistrates and police officials at different points to maintain law and order during Durga Puja celebration from October 5, 2019 to October 8, 2019. On getting information about their absence, the DM launched a drive to know whether the magistrates and police officials were present on their place of duty. The DM found 16 magistrates absent from duty and served show cause notices on them.

The Bhojpur District Administration has set up Control Rooms at three different places: Pakari, Badi Mathia, and Sheesh Mahal Chowk, to facilitate people to lodge complaint and cooperate with the district administration. At Badi Mathia Control Room, this scribe found a stall with four chairs, a table, and a running fan without any Magistrate or police officer there.

In fact, every year, the district administration makes elaborate arrangement and deputed magistrates and police officials at vantage points to maintain law and order but most of the officials seldom performed their duty and remain present from their place of duty. But this time, the DM acted tough against such officials.
