Bhojpur DM cum DEO withholds salary of 4 officers for neglecting election works

Ara : Bhojpur DM cum District Election Officer (DEO) Sanjeev Kumar on March 17, 2019, served show cause notices and also withheld salary of four officers including Assistant Commissioner, Excise Department, Vikas Kumar, for dereliction of duty in election works.

The other three officials against whom the DM has taken action include DCLR, Ara, Mukesh Kumar, and Inspector, Excise Department, Durgesh Kumar. The DM said if their replies were not found satisfactory, he would recommend for departmental proceeding against them.

The DM cum DEO had directed the officials of every department in Bhojpur district to remain present at the district headquarters Ara otherwise stern action would be initiated against them. Despite that, over a dozen officials would still come to duty from Patna daily and returned the same evening. During a review meeting of election work on March 17, the DM cum DEO found some officials had come to the meeting without completing their work because they did not find time to complete them as they still come to duty from Patna.
