Ara: Bhojpur DM Birendra Prasad Yadav on Saturday banned screening of local channels in Bhojpur district with immediate effect. The DM sent a letter to the cable operators in this regard forbidding asking them not to telecast the local channels from Saturday.
District Public Relation Officer, Bhojpur, Shambhu Nath Jha said that altogether nine local channels : Bhojpur Darshan, City Plus, Satya News, RSDC, Ara Express, Araadhana, ATN City, Smridhi, OJAS are being screened from the last several years without any permission from the Bhojpur District Magistrate. He said that the screening of channels without permission of the DM was illegal and violation of Cable Act. The DPRO said that only those channels could be telecast which are enlisted in the Information and Broadcasting ministery and that too satellite not through pen drive.
