Ara: The state government has sanctioned about Rs 3.21 crore for diesel subsidy to Bhojpur district for the 2016-2017 fiscal. Bhojpur  District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Sanjay Nath Tiwari said that the fund received from the government has been given to all the 14 blocks in Bhojpur district to be distributed among the farmers of General category, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The DAO said that Rs 2.12 crore for the general category farmers and Rs 54.42 lakh for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes each have been earmarked by the district administration. He said that Rs 7.44 lakh to Ara block, Rs. 2.72 lakh to Barhara, Rs 8.48 lakh to Koelwar, Rs 10.95 lakh to Sandesh, Rs 19.85 lakh to Udwantnagar, Rs 14.62 lakh to Sahar, Rs 15.07 lakh to Agiaon, Rs 29.52 lakh to Piro, Rs 25.97 lakh to Tarari, Rs 14.28 lakh to Charpokhari, Rs 16.14 lakh to Garhani, Rs 31.75 lakh to Jagdishpur, Rs 3.52 lakh to Shahpur and Rs 11.93 lakh to Bihia blocks have been allotted in Bhojpur district. The DAO said that the Block Agriculture Officers will distribute the subsidy amount among the farmers after thorough scrutiny.
