Bhojpur administration gears up to maintain peace on Ramnavami

Ara : Elaborate security arrangements have been made by Bhojpur District administration in view of the Ramnavami celebration scheduled for March 25, 2018. District Magistrate (DM) Sajneev Kumar said that elaborate security arrangements had been made to maintain peace during Ramnavami and all the 34 police stations in Bhojpur district had been alerted in this connection.

The DM said sensitive points had been identified and static deployment was being made at sensitive points. He said magistrates and police force had been deployed at 90 points and seven patrolling parties had also been formed to keep round the clock vigil. The district administration has made arrangement for videography of the event to prevent any mischief. The district administration has ordered to keep the town clean. Last year, the district administration was caught off guard when magistrates on duty at sensitive points were found absent.

The DM said the entire Ara town has been divided into sectors under magistrates and a centralized control room has also been made at Gopali Chowk. Three first aid counters had also been set up, he added. He said that 114 magistrates and 122 police officials with heavy police force have been deputed to maintain law and order on the occasion.

The DM directed the Civil Surgeon, Ara Sadar Hospital, Dr Ras Bihari Singh to arrange an ambulance with doctors and essential medicines that would go with the procession and also depute doctors and ANMs with life saving drugs at Ara Sadar Hospital to meet any emergency.

For the last 20 years a huge procession is taken out at Ara every year on Ramnavam and every time the event is regarded as an acid test for the district administration. The DM, SP and other senior police officials along with force remain on their toes the entire day to watch the situation themselves. The power is officially disconnected every year the whole day to prevent any incident of electrocution caused by high flag posts carried by the processionists coming into contact with the livewire.
