Patna: A statement by the RJD MP from Bhagalpur Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal predicting Tejeshwi Yadav, deputy chief minister and son of RJD president Lalu Prasad, will be the chief minister of Bihar next year has sparked off a controversy in the Grand Alliance.
Talking to mediapersons at Muzaffarpur, Bulo Mandal, who heads the RJD’s youth wing, said the party workers would launch a year long campaign to ensure Tejeshwi becomes the chief minister next year. He claimed the deputy CM was competent to rule the state as he enjoyed the support of the youths of Bihar and has gained experience in adminitration.
Tejeshwi is currently abroad and is expected to return on Saturday. The RJD has 81 members in Bihar assembly against 70 of the JD()U and 27 of the Congress-all members of the Grand Alliance.Tejeshwi, who holds Road construction department portfolio ,in a recent interview had claimed politics and governance was in his blood as his parents were chief minister. Bulo had met Lalu at his residence on Tuesday morning.
