Patna : Second seed Ricardas Berankis, 29, Lithuania, 6th seed James Duckworth, 28, Australia, and Jiri Vesely, 26, Czech Republic, entered the semi-finals of Tata Open Maharashtra, an ATP 250 event, at Pune Maharashtra, India, on February 7, 2020.

World No 69 Ricardas Berankins beat 5th seed Yuichi Sugita, 31, Japan, in a three-set thriller 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 in quarter-finals rallying back from one set down. Berankis won 4 break points in the match to 3 by the Japanese. He won 5 games in a row to 4 by Sugita. Berankis fired 8 Aces in the match to 4 by Sugita.Berankis won 65 service points to 60 by the Japanese.

World No 96 James Duckworth beat qualifier Roberto Marcora, Italy, 6-3, 7-6 in quarter-finals. The Australian fired 9 Aces in the match to 6 by the Italian. Duckworth though also committed 3 double faults. He won 2 break points to 1 by Marcora. Duckworth won 3 games in a row to 2 by Marcora. The Australian won 51 service points to 44 by the Italian.

Jiri Vesely edged past Ilya Ivashka, 25, Belarus, in three-sets 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 battling back from one set down. Vesely fired 13 Aces in the match to 8 by Ivashka.
