Patna : Bangladesh scored 233 in 82.5 overs in their first innings on Day 1 in 1st Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on February 7, 2020, with fast bowler Shaheen Afridi taking 4/53 in 21.5 overs and fellow fast bowler Mohammad Abbas taking 2/19 in 17 overs. Fast bowler Naseem Shah, 16, took 1/61 in 16 overs while spinner Haris Sohail took 2/11 in 6 overs. Pakistan won the toss but opted to bowl.

Batting first, Bangladesh made a disastrous start losing their first two wickets with just 3 runs on board. Opener Tamim Iqbal fell to Mohammad Abbas for 3 making it 3/1. At the same score, his opening partner Saif Hassan fell to Shaheen Afridi for a duck making it 3/2. Najmul Hussain Shanto and Mominul Haque (c) then added 59 runs for the third wicket. Haq fell to Afridi for 30 and it was 62/3. Shanto fell to Abbas for 44 in 110 balls with 6 fours and it was 95/4. Mahmudullaf fell to Afridi for 25 in 48 balls with 4 fours and it was 107/5.

Mohammad Mithun fell to Naseem Shah for 63 in 140 balls with 7 fours while Litan Das (wk) to spinner Sohail for 33 in 46 balls with 7 fours. Taijul Islam also fell to Sohail for 24 in 72 balls with 4 fours. Mithun and Das added 54 runs for 6th wicket. Mithun and Taijul Islam added 53 runs for 7th wicket.Mithun was 9th Bangladesh batsman to get out making it 233/9.
