Patna : World No 34 in ATP rankings Nikoloz Vasilashvili, 26, Georgia, on October 7, 2018, lifted the men’s singles title at China Open tennis championship beating World No 4 Juan Martin del Porto, 30, Argentina in straight sets at Beijing.
Vasilashvili beat Delpo 6-4, 6-4 in the final. Delpo, however, fired 11 Aces in the match to 3 by Vasilashvili. Vasilashvili, on the other hand, committed 5 double faults to none by Delpo. But, he also won two break points besides winning 3 games in a row. It was Basilashvili’s second ATP 500 points title in 2018.
