Barty, Osaka, Kvitova & Wozniacki reach 3rd Round of AO 2020

Patna : Top seed Ashleigh Barty, Australia, third seed and defending champion Naomi Osaka, Japan, World No 8 Petra Kvitová, Czech Republic, and 2018 champion Caroline Wozniacki, Denmark, and World No 15 Sofia Kenin, USA, advanced to the third round of Australian Open (AO) 2020 at Melbourne Park, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on January 22, 2020.

World No 1 Ashleigh Barty beat World No 48 Polona Hercog, Slovakia, in straight sets in 2nd round at Rod Laver Arena winning 3 break points besides winning 3 games in a row. She fired 5 Aces in the match to 1 by Hercog. The Australian won 39 service points to 28 by Hercog.

World No 4 Naomi Osaka beat World No 42 Zheng Saisai, China, 6-2, 6-4 in 2nd round at Margaret Court Arena.Osaka won 6 break points in the match to 3 by Zheng.
